Pennsylvania State Police will conduct the checkpoints throughout Bucks County.
Pennsylvania State Police at Trevose issued a statement Wednesday of their plan to conduct a "Sobriety Checkpoint" some time or times between Friday and Sunday. "A sobriety checkpoint is a traffic safety checkpoint wherein Pennsylvania State Troopers systematically stop vehicles at selected locations to briefly observe drivers for articulable facts and/or behaviors normally associated with alcohol or drug impaired drivers," the statement said. In other words, troopers will stop drivers and ask them questions. If drivers easily answer them and show no other signs of impairment, there's no problem. Police reported to a complaint of a suspicious person who, after investigation, turned out to be in possession of a stolen vehicle, police said. On March 14 just after 10 a.m., state police reported to the rest area near mile post 49 on I-95 South after receiving a complaint of a suspicious person in the area, according to a police report. After initiating an investigation, Trooper Adam M. Jacobini found that a 28-year-old Philadelphia man had a vehicle that was reported stolen from a location in Bensalem Township the previous day. After further investigation, Jacobini also discovered that the man was in possession of a prohibited offensive weapon, the report said. State Police released recent crime information, including charges for DUI.
A Bristol man was pulled over for having expired registration, then was arrested for driving under the influence, state police said. According to recent state police reports, Trooper Kevin Lee observed a Silver, Acura RSX with expired registration while on patrol on Jan. 29 at 1:35 a.m. The vehicle's operator was also seen swerving on 95 N at mile marker 37.9 in Bensalem, police said. Lee initiated a traffic stop and after further investigation, the operator of the Acura, a 26-year-old male from Bristol, was found to be intoxicated, the report said. The man failed field sobriety tests and was then arrested for driving under the influence. Charges are filed in relation to DUI at Magisterial District Court, police said.

The State Police have complied with State Rep. Todd Stephens' request to have mental health records included in a national gun check database.
It took 18 months, but State Rep. Todd Stephens said the Pennsylvania State Police have begun sending the mental health records of people prohibited from buying firearms to a federal database. Stephens (R-151) of Horsham, has been working for a year and a half to prevent what he calls a “loophole” pertaining to the inclusion of mental health records in the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS). Without that inclusion, Stephens said anyone from Pennsylvania who has been involuntarily committed, or found to be mentally deficient - and thus ineligible to buy firearms - could travel to another state and buy a gun. State Police released recent crime information, including three DUI citations.
DUI charges are pending for three individuals after state police responded to three separate incidents, according to reports. On Jan. 19 just before midnight, Trooper Craig M. Acord observed a vehicle being operated in an erratic manner traveling north on 95 near mile marker 33 in Bensalem, a police release said. The operator of the vehicle, a 29-year-old male from Philadelphia, was found to be intoxicated. He was transported to the state police's Trevose Station where he was evaluated by Drug Recognition Expert Trooper Christopher Nacious and was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. A Philadelphia man attempted to remove a catalytic converter from a car parked at the Cornwells Heights Park and Ride.
After fleeing the scene, a Philadelphia man was apprehended by state police for attempting to remove a catalytic converter from a car with a saw, according to reports. On Tuesday, Jan. 15, an off-duty Philadelphia police officer observed a man using a portable saw to remove a catalytic converter from a vehicle parked in the lot at the Cornwells Heights Park and Ride. At 3:10 p.m., the officer confronted the 34-year-old man from Philadelphia and called the state police to inform them of the situation, the police report said. State police charged a 24-year-old Levittown man with criminal mischief after he was caught defacing a wall with graffiti.
A Levittown man was charged with criminal mischief after being caught defacing a wall with graffiti on Monday, Jan. 7, according to a State Police report. The 24-year-old was seen using spray paint just after 12:30 a.m. to deface a concrete wall at the Durham Road overpass southbound on 95 in Middletown Township, police said. The man was placed into custody by Trooper Horlacher and taken to the Trevose Station of the Pennsylvania State Police, where he was processed and released, the report said. Charges have been filed for violations of the PA Crimes Code.

State Police cited a man for trespassing at Parx after having been previously excluded from the property.
A Delaware man was cited for trespassing at Parx Casino by Pennsylvania State Police, according to a recent report. On Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at 4:35 p.m., state police issued a 52-year-old man with a non-traffic citation for criminal trespass after being previously excluded from the casino.
