Philly Man Arrested in N.J. for Monday's TD Bank Robbery

Police say Nicholas Giorno Jr. of Philadelphia robbed the TD Bank on Street and Mechanicsville Road on Monday. He was found Tuesday night in a motel in Mt. Ephraim, N.J.

A 42-year old Philadelphia man has been arrested by New Jersey police and awaits extradition to Bucks County to face charges of armed robbery and related offenses.

The Bensalem Police Department says that Nicholas Giorno Jr. walked in the TD Bank located on Street Road and Mechanicsville Road on June 10 and gave one of the tellers a threatening note. Police say that Giorno's note implied he had a handgun “and would start shooting” but never displayed a weapon.

After receiving and undisclosed amount of cash, Giorno fled the area on foot, according to police. He was located Tuesday night in a motel room in Mt. Ephraim, N.J., about five miles south of Camden. Local police arrived on the scene and took Giorno into custody.
